A little about me

The Food Network is therapeutic, so is cleaning

I get to work early every day so that I can read Daily Candy while drinking coffee

I love to cook, I don’t follow recipes

J. Crew sales bring me great joy

I love lists, planners, stationary and white sheets

I get red and blotchy when I’m nervous, anxious or have been drinking too much wine

My dream car is a white Range Rover with tan interior, two kids and a Burmese mountain dog in back

I dislike when people are late, unorganized, or ignorant

I love living in Chicago

I never thought I could love a dog that looks like Hollywood as much as I do

I’ve made some great memories at Ravinia in the Summertime

My baby brother is one of my idols. So is my mom.

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, favorite desert at Thanksgiving is pumpkin pie, favorite season is Fall

The lake house is one of my favorite places in the world

One of the best dates Bob and I have had was Topo Gigio in Old Town. I also received diamonds that night

My next big vacation will be Napa Valley then driving the Pacific Highway through the coast visiting family along the way

Kiehls in incredible. Really, everything they make.

I try to drink more water, but fail repeatedly

Some of my co-workers know more about me than I know about myself

I worked with a wedding planner and as a result have a passion for flowers and simple weddings

I do not enjoy skiing, but I do enjoy the warm beverages and snuggling by the fire

I don’t think that anyone’s family is normal. If they are, it’s the exception.

I get extremely grumpy when I’m hungry or tired

I think that every girl needs a little black dress

I've got a Blog?

I've been inspired by a few people to start this blog. One of which has an incredibly clever blog of her own that I thouroughly enjoy reading. It's not that her life is ridiculously exciting- it's actually pretty similar to mine. But the way she writes makes it enjoyable. It is clear that she enjoys exploring the happenings of her day to day life through this outlet.

The second person is my friend and co-worker. While sitting outside sipping diet cokes with lemon on an attempt to catch some sun in the middle of the work day, we threw the idea around. I actually suggested that she start one, because I was sure it would be witty, and her stories are fantastic. And she did.

So, I thought I'd give it a try. While I can't promise the clever and witty diatribes of the ladies mentioned above, I'll do my best. Enjoy!
