West Elm Artist Event

Last night my bestie shopping/Chicago event-going buddy, Lauren and I attended the West Elm Artist event featuring the work of Michael Francis. We loved the art, the food and beverages from Goose Island (Sophie is my new beer obsession- and it comes in a gorgeous bottle!), and of course, West Elm itself. Here are some photos from the event.

I love how they utilize the ceiling as additional visual space.

And in other, related news, I finally purchased the West Elm Tulip chair in honey leather. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. Here it is in my home!

The Veranda House

Love the idea of yarn tied around throw pillows. Must try.

I came across this charming boutique hotel in Nantucket and had to share the loveliness that is The Veranda House. I've never been to Nantucket, but would love to spend some time in this quaint New England town.

The Laundress and the Dog

I learned about The Laundress through Daily Candy. This website offers eco-chic products for your laundry room and for actually doing the laundry. The items above would make a very nice house warming gift. Why not make your laundry room pretty?

Santa Barbara Style

I spent a long weekend in Santa Barbara, and I must say, this City Girl could spend some serious time in this laid back beach town.

I know this post is all about Santa Barbara, but I did make it to LA to visit some family. I couldn't leave without stopping by my favorite breakfast spot in Beverly Hills, Jack and Jill. If you happen to go, order the mini blueberry muffins to go along with your brunch.

Last night I sipped some white wine on my patio, unable to accept the fact that it is indeed August, while I flipped through the J. Crew Fall preview catalog. Here are a few of my favorite findings for my absolute favorite season.
